Wow, what a brilliant training day on Easter Monday, 22nd April at Solihull Riding Club. The weather was exceptionally kind to us. The day was fully booked some time before close of entries, which resulted in a waiting list. Stuart Roberts and our Chairman Ken Young were our instructors for the day and everyone went away with some homework to do.

Due to the popularity of theses training days it is hoped to organise a similar event later in the season, as well as our training and ODE at Anslow on Sunday 14th July. Remember these will be limited entries.
Wow!, Wow! And double Wow! What a Brilliant entry for our first event of the season at Solihull R.C. New faces abound at the indoor/Outdoor Trial, on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May. Some good competition ensued. Sally, Sarah and Ken thought they had really built a test cones course. But it was obviously people had been doing their homework, as we had a record 9 double clears, includingpeter with a pair of shire, which included “Tom” the latest Hallaton baby at hisfirst event. Rachel Bolton and her lovely pony Faith took the dressage in the beginners but Louise Wright with her new pony Oliver came through to claim the obstacles and 2nd Overall, with Rachel taking the class. Welcome to Millie and Sigourney in this class. In the novice there was a little and large tie for 1stplace in the dressage between young Alfie Foster and Mary Fuller with herhandsome Percheron “Hales Memnow” But another Junior new member Millie Mae-Harrington came through to take the obstacles and overall with Alfie 2ndand Mary 3rd. In the open Linda and “Cappa” rook the dressage, but at long lastthe pair had got some competition in the obstacles from Darren Wall who has now stepped up to the open. Darren took the obstacles and took the overall.

One to watch!!. A good battle in the multiples with Emma, Peter and Judy Lancaster with Cath Brockie’s super little pair. Emma took the dressage by 1⁄2 a penalty from big brother Peter. But in the obstacles Judy stormed through to take this phase and overall with Emma 2nd and Peter 3rd. Not a gnats whisker between them. Welcome all those new faces including Craig Triggs who got a taste of backstepping with Linda Wiggin. Hopefully we will see him and his pony soon.
