Well here we are at the end of another season as we all paddle through the mud and mire to tend to our wonderful equine friends. Lovely warm sunshine seems such a distant memory – we look forward to an exciting new summer season in 2020.

The AGM was held on Wednesday 6th November 2019 at Nether Whitacre Village Hall, Station Road, Whitacre Heath. Your committee remains the same for 2020. Chairman – Ken Young, Vice Chairman – Marian Gibson, Treasurer – Jeanette Mills, Membership Secretary Vicki Parry, President Keith Griffin, other members – Steve Edwards, Anne Taylor, Jacqui Breedon, Betty King and Linda Wiggin. Ken had expressed a wish to step down due to increased work commitments. As there was no one willing to step into the breach he agreed to carry on for another year, although he may find it difficult to attend all the meetings. Everyone applauded his decision to stay on and thanked him for all his efforts along with his family on behalf of all the members.

The Treasurer Jeanette Mills reported that the club had made a loss in 2019, mainly due to the updating of the website. Membership was slightly down as where entries. This was due to the loss of Anslow in June once again due to the weather and cancellation of both the treasure hunt and the scavenger hunt due to the lack of support. The Socials however were very well supported. The Chairman basically reported much the same as the Treasurer. He hoped that more training days could be held as they seemed to be very popular. As we are one of the few grass roots level clubs that are still in existence it is felt that training days are in important in helping people come into the sport with the correct training.

It was agreed by the meeting that the subscriptions will remain the same for 2020. Driving Single Person :-£20, Couple (2 people at the same address) £25. Family (2 adults & 2 children under 18yrs on 1st January 2020) £30.
Junior £5 (under 18yrs on 1st January 2020) and Non Driving Single person:- £15

Don’t forget that your subscriptions will be due on the 1st January 2020. Membership forms can be downloaded from the website.

Linda Wiggin did ask if anyone can source any new venues within our central area for the forthcoming season. If so, please let her know by January so dates can be proposed by the February 2020 meeting.

The AGM closed and after a brief tea break plus a sing song with the concert practise in the main room next door, proceedings continued with the last club meeting of 2019.

Only one past event to report on and that was the excellent Halloween Skittles & Supper organised by Vicki Parry. This year it was held at the Jaguar Sports & Social Club, Allesley, Coventry. What a brilliant Venue and Supper to boot. Lively Banter and some good bowling saw the results being very close. Steve Edwards in his usual forceful style nearly had the balls and skittles in the Amazon Warehouse next door! Results later in the newsletter.

There are a couple of events to see out 2019. Vicki Parry is organising a Christmas Meal on Saturday 30th November at the Cottage Inn, Blackhall Lane, Fillongley. If you are interested please contact Vicki on 07925 325 658. Menu Attached.

Caroline Young will be organising one of her excellent festive Treasure Hunts on Sunday 29th December at Hallaton, Halloughton Lane, Whether Whitacre. For Full details please contact Caroline.

Trophy Returns! Those members who are trophy holders could you please return them to Linda in good order by the February 2020 meeting.

Full details of the Annual Meal & Awards Evening will be available in the New Year.
