From timekeepers, score collectors, dressage writes and course builders, carriage driving is reliant upon volunteers to organize and run the events. Many competitors also need grooms to go on their carriage, so there is always plenty of opportunity to get involved, with or without a horse.
Helpers and backsteppers are always hard to come by as most people want to drive. However those who do not have a horse, can still experience the thrill of carriage driving from the backstep. We hold training days for grooms so you can try it out there.
Our socials are all ‘leave your horse in the stable’ events. They are a good opportunity to catch up and discuss driving with other like minded people. Or just to find out the tricks of the trade. Our members are always willing to share their knowledge and lend a hand, if you ask.
